About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and confident communicator to join our team as a Modern Apprentice. This varied role splits your time between essential office administration, customer telephone support, and assisting our accounts team with credit control.
Key Responsibilities
General Office Administration
- Managing the inbox, replying to emails, and distributing messages
- Data entry
- Assisting with incoming and outgoing mail
- General office support tasks
Customer Service
- Answering incoming office phone calls in a professional, friendly manner
- Directing customer queries to the correct team members
Credit Control Assistance
- Checking and updating customer accounts on our system
- Following up on overdue invoices via phone and email
- Inputting received payments and ensuring accurate records
What will I learn? The successful candidate will have incorporated with their daily work a Modern Apprenticeship in Business & Administration at SCQF Level 6 with potential to progress to a SCQF Level 8 qualification or similar, thus gaining nationally recognised qualifications while earning a competitive wage.
This learning and development opportunity is a work-based qualification with the application of your daily tasks being used as evidence of your performance, knowledge, skills and behaviours in accordance with the relevant National Occupational Standards. The qualification will be delivered by a very experienced training provider with a proven track record locally. Each level is envisaged to take approximately a year but that target is flexible and dependent on candidate engagement and circumstances.
What qualifications or qualities are required? Skills & Experience
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, and work hard toward your qualification.
- The ability to manage your time, prioritise tasks, and keep accurate records.
- A confident and polite phone manner.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Qualifications Required
- National 5 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics is preferred.
- All candidates must live in Scotland to be eligible for the apprenticeship.
