Full Job Description

The Commercial Lending Platform are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to lead their Business Management team. The Platform sits within the wider Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) Business Unit, and we're responsible for the delivery of a wide range of operational services including Governance, Risk, Cost Management and Resourcing.

As part of a fast-paced, agile environment, you'll work closely with the team to deliver efficiency and effectiveness, focusing specifically on leading the Business Management team to embed a partnership service across all deliveries including Governance, Risk reporting, Risk Administration across both change and run the bank activities. Acting as a trusted partner to the teams we support and using your personal insight to drive focus on the areas that matter the most.#

You'll network with senior leaders, engage, and collaborate with colleagues across all areas of the BCB Platforms, wider BCB Business Unit and CIOs to support with future ways of working. Finding opportunities and risks, driving forward actions and taking control for resolving problems.

  • Develop and deliver a plan for Business Support Services across the Platform

  • Supports Platform Leads ensure an embedded governance and risk framework across the platform in line with Group Policy

  • Responsible for risk reporting, risk administration, and supporting platform leadership with risk management activities inc. Audit, Risk & Control Self-Assessment and supporting the Divisional Resilience and Security Office

  • Manages relationships with internal customers acting as a business partner

  • Supports BAL activity around identifying shortcomings, suggesting improvements and implementing approved revisions, to platform ecosystem

  • Interlocks with other platforms within the Business Unit

  • Lead the efficiency of the reporting framework, providing insight through provision of high-quality, accurate analysis and reporting, to influence and enable stakeholders to make informed decisions

  • Drive compliance, undertaking assurance activities and monitoring MI to ensure processes are completed in line with policy standards and breaches are identified and remediated

  • Champion trusted partner status with the Platform and wider Business Unit, communicating to influence colleagues and build a culture with high levels of integrity

  • Undertake Line Management duties, coaching others throughout the organisation in area of expertise

    Strong analytical skills to interpret expansive data sets, making sense of complex information, analysing key themes, providing insight for decision-making

  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and in writing, with the ability to distil layered themes into clear communications tailored in content and style

  • Adept at building partnerships, anticipating, and balancing the needs of multiple customers, and encouraging collaboration

  • Flexible and resilient, results focussed and able to prioritise work to meet commitments aligned with objectives. Improvise in response to change, and maintain focus and effectiveness in ambiguous situations

  • Previous experience in Change and knowledge of associated policies and procedures, interpret and provide technical guidance to others
