Full Job Description

Reporting to the Internal Resource Manager, you'll be a key member of our cable laying teams in our Networks Operations within our region.

As a Cable Layer, you'll be integral in laying and installing cables for both low and high voltage operations. This role involves collaborating within small to large team settings to facilitate smooth operational flows in cable installations and utilities infrastructure, ensuring safety and efficiency on every project.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and support the laying of both low voltage and high voltage cables effectively.

- Excavate trenches and reinstate them appropriately for new connections and supply restoration projects across various sites.

- Work in coordination with larger teams on substantial project installations, adapting to varying team dynamics.

- Ensure all tasks are completed safely and compliantly, particularly when operating in public highways and residential areas.

- Contribute to the team's ongoing efforts to innovate processes and enhance efficiency and safety in operations.

A full and clean driving license is required for this role, and you should be able to tow a trailer. This is a physically demanding role and will involve working outdoors in all weather conditions. You will also be required to undertake standby duties in response to faults overnight and at weekends, as part of a rota.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Proven experience in civil-related projects or operations.

- Valid NRSWA, plant operator, and CSCS authorisations preferred but training may be given to suitable candidates.

- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.

- A committed attitude towards maintaining high safety standards in all work environments.

- Creative thinking capabilities to drive process improvements and operational enhancements.
