About the Role

We are looking for a caring, compassionate and reliable Bank Care Assistant to join our team at Lochside Manor.

As a Bank Care Assistant, you will provide flexible support to our care team, helping to maintain high standards of person-centred care and ensuring residents continue to receive the support they need. Bank shifts may be available to cover annual leave, sickness and other staffing requirements.

You will support people to live safe, meaningful and fulfilling lives while promoting their dignity, independence, choices and wellbeing. You will get to know the people you support as individuals, respecting their preferences, routines, interests and the things that are important to them.

Key Responsibilities

As a Bank Care Assistant, you will:

  • Provide compassionate, respectful and person-centred care and support.
  • Promote people's rights, dignity, privacy and independence.
  • Support individuals to make informed choices about their care and everyday lives.
  • Support people with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Use safe moving and handling techniques in line with training and procedures.
  • Support with food, fluid intake and repositioning where required.
  • Build positive relationships with the people we support, their families and colleagues.
  • Support individuals to take part in meaningful recreational and social activities.
  • Observe and report changes in an individual's physical, cognitive, mental or emotional wellbeing.
  • Support people to maintain important relationships, routines and interests.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records and documentation.
  • Work effectively with colleagues, families and relevant professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Work flexibly across available bank shifts to support the needs of the service.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, compassionate and respectful.
  • Reliable, patient and dependable.
  • Flexible and willing to support the service when bank shifts are available.
  • Committed to promoting people's independence and choices.
  • Able to communicate clearly and build positive relationships.
  • Comfortable working as part of a wider team.
  • Willing to learn and develop their skills.
  • Committed to maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Able to recognise and report concerns relating to safeguarding, health and wellbeing.

Previous experience in a care environment and relevant SVQ qualifications would be beneficial, but we are also interested in people who have the right attitude, values and willingness to learn.

What We Offer

  • £13.45 per hour
  • Flexible bank shifts to support the needs of the service.
  • Supportive management and care team.
  • Training and ongoing development.
  • EVOLVE statutory and mandatory training.
  • Opportunities to work towards relevant SVQ qualifications.
  • Regular supervision and appraisal, as appropriate to the role.
  • Company pension, subject to eligibility.
  • Early access to a portion of your earned wage with Stream, subject to eligibility.
  • Access to employee benefits, discounts and rewards through Stream.
  • Opportunities for career development and progression.
