Job Description
To provide operational management of the Care at Home service as designated by/in the absence of the Care at Home Team Manager, fulfilling the role of the Registered Manager when required.
To manage and deliver the in-house Care at Home service to a designated group of Service Users.
To support and manage a designated group of staff.
To support the Care at Home Team Manager to ensure the service operates within required standards in line with national and local policy, practice, standards and within agreed budgetary limits.
To provide a budgetary overview of expenditure.
Responsibilities
To be responsible for the effective management of the service as designated by/in the absence of the Care at Home Team Manager.
Ensure the quality and standard of professional practice and performance in all areas of service delivery.
Manage, organise and supervise the development of a designated group of Care at Home staff, including completion of ERPD and regular supervision.
Observe the standards of practice of Care at Home Officer’s and Social Care Assistant’s in ensuring care packages are delivered at appropriate time and in line with the outcome of assessments with Council Service Delivery.
Liaise with other partnership services e.g. old age psychiatry, learning disability and mental health providers and informal service users and carers, in order to seek to meet the needs in the most efficient and appropriate way.
Arrange and participate in required duty systems.
Maintain case records, both electronic and written, provide information for performance indicators, and fulfil procedures and statutory duties in line with national and local policy practices and procedures.
Monitor the agreed budget for administrative costs associated to the Care at Home budget.
Carry out Management and Administration processes in line with Moray Council policies and procedures.
Participate in the role of Care at Home Officer or designated other when required.
The Individual
Recent experience of working in a Health/Social Care setting with supervisory experience.
Demonstrable understanding of main issues facing Community Care.
HNC in Social Care/SVQ3.
SEN; SRN or other applicable professional qualification.
Good oral/written communication
Excellent inter-personal skills.
Proven ability to lead on management of change.
Ability to prioritise workload, in accordance with objectives and targets.
Proven ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to record information accurately.
Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
Good organisational skills/time management with the ability to respond to conflicting and competing demands.
Ability to interpret and analyse information.
Ability to negotiate and liaise with others.
Ability to work on own or as part of a team.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car.
Ability to relate well with staff at all levels.
Ability to work in partnership in a multi-professional way.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Able to work flexibly according to the needs of the service.
This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
