Careers & Employability Advisor

35 hours per week

Permanent

Ayr campus

£35,459 per annum

As a Careers & Employability Advisor, you will support the Careers & Employability Team Leader to deliver a high quality, efficient and effective Careers & Employability service for college customers including students, staff and external clients.

 

You will deliver the full range of Employability activities for students and play a key role in the development, delivery and evaluation of the College’s Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEAIG) strategy and activities. You will plan & develop workshops, provide one- to-one careers and employability support, and work collaboratively and liaise with curriculum teams and external partners to support students through their employability journey while supporting the college’s strategy.

 

You will also support the integration of digital technologies, contribute to the delivery of a range of preparation and induction activities, maintain a high-quality administrative process and have the ability to deal with all matters with the upmost confidentiality in accordance with data protection policies to ensure students are provided with the best support for their college journey.

 

You will be qualified to HNC level or equivalent or have relevant experience in a related environment. You will have demonstrable knowledge of the UCAS application process, the services delivered by key partnership stakeholders and local authority employability services. In addition, you will have a knowledge of current developments in relation to Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEAIG) and Employability.

 

You will have comprehensive experience in providing support to young people and/or adults with additional support needs, preferably within a further education environment. In addition to experience in developing and delivering workshops and information sessions. Evidence of providing excellent customer service, advice and guidance is also required.
