Carpentry & Joinery Apprentices

We are pleased to announce that we are looking to recruit Carpentry & Joinery Apprentices.\nThese apprenticeships will be delivered in conjunction with UHI Inverness on a block release basis, with successful candidates starting their careers in mid July 2026.\nApplications are invited from candidates who are keen to access a career in construction, that are able to demonstrate a willingness to work hard, have strong practical skills and ability along with good communication and teamwork skills. The modern apprenticeship is a four year programme delivered in partnership with the apprentice, employer and UHI Inverness and comprises of the following components:-\n\nSVQ 3, PDA and Core Skills.\n\nThe PDA component of the qualification is delivered at UHI Inverness on block release whilst the SVQ 3 is delivered in the workplace supported by visits from College assessors. Content includes:-\n\n• Install second fixing components\n• Timber frames (internal and external)\n• Ground and

upper floor construction\n• Woodworking and power tools\n• Pitched roof construction\n• Domestic fitments\n\nOn the job training will be provided to achieve all aspects of the role requirements.\n It is recommended that candidates should have Scottish National 4 Grades (or equivalent) in English, Maths, a Science subject and Craft/ Design Technology (if taken).\nThe successful applicant will ideally have the following skills, qualities and experience:-\n\nFull UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).\nThe ability to work effectively with others as a competent team member.\nA genuine desire to work in the construction industry.\nWe are looking for someone who is a versatile, flexible and accommodating worker.\nBe hardworking, conscientious, trustworthy, friendly, timeous and dependable.\n
