We are looking for confident, friendly and professional people to join our team of Casual Celebrants, supporting the delivery of marriage and civil partnership ceremonies at venues across Midlothian, mainly at weekends.

This is a unique and rewarding role, helping couples celebrate one of the most important days of their lives. You'll need excellent communication and presentation skills, confidence speaking in front of groups and the ability to remain calm, organised and professional.

You must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to your own car, as you will be required to travel to venues across Midlothian.

KNOWLEDGE

Applicants must be aged 21 or over and project a mature and confident approach. Good presentation and communication skills are required as many ceremonies have large numbers of people present. Jobholders must be friendly but firm if they have to call guests to order.

Experience of public speaking or working with the public is desirable, as is a full driving licence and access to a car.

Initial training is likely to be delivered through 2 sessions a week for a period of 3 months. There will generally be a period of shadowing existing registrars and conducting ceremonies under supervision until such time as the Registrar determines a celebrant competent to work independently.
