35 Hours, 52 Weeks - £32,024.87 - £36,151.72 per annum

35 Hours, Term Time (40 Weeks) - £28,786.40 - £32,495.92 per annum

17.5 Hours, 52 Weeks - £16,012.43 - £18,075.86 per annum

17.5 Hours, Term Time (40 Weeks) - £14,393.20 - £16,234.48 per annum

Glasgow City Council is recruiting experienced Child Development Officers for permanent positions within the city of Glasgow.

Child Development Officers have responsibility for the learning and development of our youngest learners through the planning and preparation of stimulating learning experiences in line with Curriculum for Excellence and national practice guidance.

You will provide support and care whilst promoting the development of independence, competence and confidence in our young learners. In addition, you will be required to effectively engage with families and education, health and social care professionals, as and when required.

Applicants must posses a relevant qualification such as an HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 (formerly HNC Early Education and Childcare), SVQ Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF Level 7, National Nursery Examination Board certificate (NNEB), or equivalent, as required by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for registration as a practitioner in the day care of children's services.

The successful candidates must be able to work flexibly on a rota basis between 8.00am and 6.00pm.

This position is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Please note successful candidates will be required to pay for the costs.

N.B. The salary shown reflects the current pay for this post. Under the Council’s new Pay and Grading Structure, which is scheduled to be implemented from 4 April 2027, the salary for this role is expected to increase to the amount shown below, based on your contracted hours and working weeks:

35 Hours, 52 Weeks - £36,737.25 - £45,022.75 per annum

35 Hours, Term Time (40 Weeks) - £33,022.24 - £40,469.88 per annum

17.5 Hours, 52 Weeks - £18,368.62 - £22,511.37 per annum

17.5 Hours, Term Time (40 Weeks) - £16,511.12 - £20,234.94 per annum
