Job purpose: Childcare Modern Apprenticeship

Hours: Full-time, 35 to 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Pay: £8.00 per hour

Essor Training is looking for caring, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to start their journey towards a rewarding career in Early Learning and Childcare.

As a Modern Apprentice, you will earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in a nursery or out-of-school care setting while working towards an SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7.

You will work alongside experienced childcare practitioners, developing the confidence and practical skills needed to support children's care, learning and development.

*No previous childcare experience is required.

*Gain practical workplace experience while earning a wage.

*Receive dedicated support from your employer and Essor Training assessor.

*Work towards a nationally recognised qualification.

*Complete your apprenticeship in approximately 12 to 18 months, depending on your progress.

What will I learn? Throughout your apprenticeship, you will develop the knowledge and practical skills to provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children aged five and under.

You will learn how to:

*Provide effective care and support children's learning in a nursery setting.

*Work effectively as part of a team.

*Meet individual children's care, wellbeing and learning needs.

*Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences that support children's development.

*Support the daily routines and smooth running of a nursery.

*Understand child development and the theories that inform early years practice.

*Apply relevant curricula, frameworks, policies and legislation to early learning and childcare.

*Create a safe, stimulating and welcoming environment through play, creative activities and exploration.

*Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain high standards of care and hygiene.

*Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.

You will develop these skills through practical experience, training and ongoing guidance from your workplace team and Essor Training assessor.

What qualifications or qualities are required? You do not need any previous professional childcare experience or a childcare qualification to apply. What matters most is your passion for working with children and helping them learn and develop.
