Payroll Specialist (CIPP Qualified)
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Payroll Specialist – CIPP Qualified
Pertemps is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation based in Glasgow for an experienced and CIPP-qualified Payroll Specialist. The RoleAs Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering an accurate and efficient end-to-end payroll service while ensuring compliance with current legislation and organisational policies. Working closely with HR and Finance, you will play a key role in maintaining payroll accuracy and providing expert guidance on payroll-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly payroll from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
- Maintain payroll records and employee data in line with GDPR requirements.
- Calculate statutory payments, pensions, deductions, overtime and other payroll adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, payroll legislation and employment law.
- Manage payroll queries, providing a high level of customer service to employees and managers.
- Reconcile payroll reports and liaise with Finance regarding payroll journals.
- Administer pension schemes, including auto-enrolment responsibilities.
- Support year-end payroll activities, including P60s and other statutory reporting.
- Assist with payroll audits and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with HR to ensure employee changes are reflected accurately within payroll.
About YouWe're looking for a payroll professional who can demonstrate:
- CIPD qualification (essential).
- Previous experience managing end-to-end payroll within a busy environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and statutory payments.
- Excellent understanding of payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the business.
- A proactive approach with a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
