Full Job Description
You're a Senior Civil Engineer who wants to take full ownership of projects while expanding your influence across clients, teams, and delivery. At Stantec, you'll join our Buildings team in Glasgow or Edinburgh, working on multidisciplinary projects from early feasibility through to construction. You'll be part of a collaborative environment where civil engineering is fully integrated with other disciplines, giving you the platform to shape design solutions and how projects are delivered.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will lead the development and delivery of civil engineering design solutions across a range of building projects, taking responsibility for technical quality, programme, and client outcomes. You'll be involved from concept through to construction, ensuring designs are coordinated, compliant, and aligned with wider project objectives.
Your work will include the design of earthworks, drainage, roads, and external works, alongside the preparation of technical reports and submission packages. You'll liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to secure approvals while maintaining strong communication with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
Alongside technical delivery, you'll contribute to project management-supporting fee proposals, resource planning, and programme management-while mentoring junior engineers and supporting their development within the team.
YOUR IMPACT
You'll play a key role in shaping how developments are planned and delivered, influencing layouts, infrastructure, and long-term site performance. Your work will support projects that are practical, compliant, and aligned with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Internally, your impact will be seen in the strength and consistency of delivery. By mentoring engineers and contributing to project coordination, you'll help build a high-performing team while developing your own leadership and client-facing capability.
