Full Job Description
Civil Engineer - Civils
Stirling
60-70,000 plus package
An opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineer to join a growing specialist engineering business based in Stirling, delivering technically challenging civil engineering projects across Scotland.
The role will support projects from tender and design development through to site delivery and close-out, working across civils infrastructure, coastal works and nearshore construction.
This would suit a Civil Engineer with experience or a strong interest in civil engineering projects, marine construction, coastal engineering, subsea works, which would be beneficial but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the preparation of technical and commercial tenders for marine and civil engineering projects.
* Develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions alongside Project Managers and engineering teams.
* Support the design and delivery of works including:
- Infrastructure
- Quays and jetties
- Marine and subsea foundations
- Coastal protection works
- Piling and trenching
- Cable landfalls and utilities
- Seabed preparation and associated civil works
* Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, engineering documentation and construction methodologies.
* Support projects to ensure they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
* Coordinate vessel, plant, equipment, materials and subcontractor requirements.
* Support marine operations including workboats, lifting operations, diving, ROV activities, surveys and marine logistics.
* Monitor site progress, resources, costs and potential project risks.
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, engineers and operational teams throughout project delivery.
* Provide technical input into tenders, concept designs, costing exercises and client meetings.
* Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved technical specifications, drawings and quality requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
Ideally, you will have:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Naval Architecture, Subsea Engineering, Mechanical / offshore Engineering or a related discipline.
* Around 2-7 years' relevant civil engineering experience, ideally including experience within marine or coastal projects - but not essential.
* Experience across marine civils such as quays, jetties, coastal works, foundations, piling, trenching, cable landfalls or subsea infrastructure would be advantageous.
* An understanding of marine construction, workboat operations or maritime logistics would be beneficial.
* Strong technical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
* A practical, hands-on approach to engineering and project delivery.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work with engineering, operational and commercial teams.
* Flexibility to travel to project locations throughout the UK.
Why Consider the Role?
This is a varied position offering exposure to projects across both marine and traditional civil engineering, with involvement across the full project life cycle rather than being restricted purely to design or site delivery. It would particularly suit an engineer looking to develop broader experience across engineering, tendering, project delivery and marine operations. Building a team so excellent career progression on offer.
