Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity within our Edinburgh Civil Engineering team for a Civil Engineering apprentice. An apprenticeship is a fantastic alternative to a traditional campus-based programme, with the opportunity to earn a salary whilst still achieving a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Civil Engineering degree.

Candidates will be required to build a knowledge of civil engineering and will possess an interest in developing and progressing a career in engineering consultancy. They will report to a Senior Technician / Engineer and will assist with the delivery of a range of engineering infrastructure and environmental improvement projects for flood, coastal management, railways, reservoirs, highways and green engineering.

Working with clients across the public, private and third sectors, candidates will assist our engineering teams with the development and delivery of asset inspections, options appraisals, concept designs and detailed scheme designs.

Are you interested in Civil Engineering and want to join a dynamic and growing company whilst working to achieve a BEng degree?, + Pass at National 5 Maths or equivalent
+ Highers at AAAB or ABBBB including Maths A minimum of 126 UCAS tariff points or a Foundation Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering, with SQA Highers at AAB or equivalent, + To be living in Scotland and have the right to live and work in the UK to qualify for funding
+ A valid UK driving licence or be seeking to undertake your driving test
+ Sufficient I.T. skills to learn relevant software tools under supervision, i.e. CAD, Microsoft Word and Excel., The ideal candidate will:

+ Entry requirements for those currently in employment will be based on meeting funding eligibility and requirements of both the training provider and JBA Consulting.
