Full Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic, innovative civil engineer or construction manager?

Are you looking for a new challenge where you can make a difference to the communities and people of Scotland?

Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited owns ferries, ports and harbours and infrastructure necessary for vital ferry services serving the west coast of Scotland and the Clyde Estuary, and the Northern Isles and we are looking for people to join our Engineering Delivery team in client roles to provide efficient, cost-effective and safe harbours and port infrastructure for operators, communities and users in and around Scotland.

We need people to oversee the development, procurement and implementation of capital and refurbishment projects and works for harbour infrastructure. You will be responsible for delivering multiple projects and reactive works and will work with consultants, contractors, the port/ferry operator and local communities & groups to deliver projects and solutions.

Our head office is on the Clyde Estuary, in Port Glasgow, but our ports and harbours are spread across the west coast and islands of Scotland. Like most organisations, we’ve learnt a thing or two about flexible, remote working over the past 18 months and we are keen to build on this to ensure we have the best people working with us to serve the communities that rely on our infrastructure.

You will have a relevant qualification in civil engineering, construction management or other relevant subject and be registered with the Engineering Council at Incorporated or Chartered level (or be working towards this); you will have project and/or asset management experience, and preferably a background in marine engineering, with a proactive approach and excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Scottish Government procurement routes and NEC contracts would be beneficial.

The roles will require site meetings and inspections, sometimes in the evening or at weekends, therefore a driving licence and a flexible approach to work are essential.

Salary is dependent on the role undertaken, qualifications and experience; benefits for all roles include a defined benefit pension scheme, life assurance and an optional healthcare package.

Please refer to CMAL’s website for job descriptions and person specifications.

To apply, please send your CV with a covering letter stating which role(s) you wish to be considered for, along with details of how you meet the person specification(s).
