Full Job Description
Clerk of Works x2 (one position for Affordable Housing New Builds and one position for Non-Domestic Properties with potential to cover FH works where required) Carrying out regular inspections on materials, workmanship and monitor working methods to ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and specifications. Ensure that all British Standards, Codes of Practice and other associated regulations are adhered to along with maintaining documentation, e.g. records, drawings, specifications, site inspections, work progress, weather conditions, site conditions both manual and computerised as appropriate, ensuring they are stored correctly. Providing information to others as appropriate and providing technical advice and information on construction works. Employed on a permanent basis working 36 hours per week/52 weeks per year with a salary range: £34,914.86 - £43,437.09 (FC7) per year. Based in Bankhead Central, Glenrothes covering sites in various locations throughout Fife. The Person Educated to SCQF level 7, which includes HNC or Advanced Highers, Apprenticeship or equivalent in a construction related field with a good knowledge and awareness of the methods and materials used in the construction and maintenance of civil engineering and construction works. Candidates must demonstrate experience of reading drawings and ensuring work is carried out in accordance with these drawings along with ability to recognise and evaluate defects. Experience of inspection and/or supervision of construction works, knowledge of environmental regulations and an attention to detail skill is a must.as is understanding the importance of maintaining good site records. Organisational, Administrative and IT skills along with the ability to prioritise and plan workloads are important qualities along with demonstrating team working skills. Candidates will be required to demonstrate a knowledge of Construction (Design & Management) Regulations and Health and Safety legislation. The ability to travel throughout Fife, often at short notice, is essential. Further Information
