Full Job Description

Campbell Smith LLP supports clients and their families with private client, property and welfare matters. We are seeking a compassionate and organised Client Welfare Manager to join our team in Edinburgh, providing sensitive, practical support through important life events, care decisions and financial management matters.

The role

Working closely with our private client and conveyancing teams, you will manage a varied workload with a high degree of autonomy. You will build relationships with clients, their families and care professionals, helping clients navigate their options and manage their affairs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting clients and families to discuss care options, benefits, residential care and welfare matters.
  • Providing guidance on the operation and activation of Powers of Attorney.
  • Supporting clients for whom the firm acts under a Power of Attorney, including visiting them at home, in hospital and in care settings.
  • Liaising with family members, care providers, social work departments, financial advisers and other agencies.
  • Assisting with clients’ financial affairs, including banking, pensions, investments, utilities and benefits.
  • Assisting with Financial Guardianship applications, inventories, management plans and annual accounts.

About you:

You will have experience working with elderly or vulnerable adults and a sensitive, respectful approach to supporting clients and their families.

A social work background and knowledge of the benefits system as it applies to older people would be helpful.

Previous experience as a Paralegal and knowledge of the current welfare system would be advantageous.

You will also bring:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Confidence dealing with clients, families and care professionals.
  • Good IT skills.

A driving licence would be advantageous, as the role involves regular client visits.

What we offer;

This is an opportunity to undertake rewarding and varied work, making a meaningful contribution to the welfare of vulnerable clients.

The position is primarily office based in Edinburgh, with regular client visits.

We offer a competitive salary reflecting your experience and a working pattern of four or five days per week. Alternative working arrangements can be discussed.

To apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter outlining your relevant experience.
