Full Job Description

Giffnock Tennis Squash & Hockey Club are looking to recruit a Club Manager to work in a busy and vibrant club. Giffnock is a private members’ club situated in a southside suburb of Glasgow. The Club has over a thousand members across the three sports and social categories. We also provide a bar service and social events for members.  

Main responsibilities will include

  • Be a central point of contact and deal with members’ enquiries, both current and prospective. Ensure membership records and systems are kept up to date and accurate.  
  • Coordinate Club’s marketing activities, including attracting new members, club sponsors, maintaining club website and social media.  
  • Process invoices, payments, timesheets, and keep financial records and systems up to date.  
  • Support sports convenors and coaches with administering coaching programmes and teams management.  
  • Support Bar Manager with the bar operations and deliveries.  
  • Manage club suppliers and contractors as well as club records, e.g. cleaning contractors, alarm system, PAT testing, PVGs, Safeguarding compliance etc  
  • Closely work with the Management Committee and perform any other tasks required for the smooth running of the Club.  

Other requirements include

  • Great communicator and a people person who is not afraid to challenge where appropriate.  
  • Excellent IT and computer skills and a quick learner. Training of the club systems will be provided.  
  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer services and/or sport environment will be a great plus.  

What we offer

  • Initially a part-time role of 20+ hours a week with a potential scope to extend to full-time in future. There is also an option to ‘top up’ hours with bar shifts. 
  • Flexible working hours but regular evening and weekend work is expected, in particular on a Saturday.  
  • Remuneration depending on experience plus a bonus structure.
