CNC Machinist Apprenticeship Program

About The Role:

The role is based in a high-tech production environment where attention to detail is essential. We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic individuals who are able to achieve accurate results to a very high standard and quality requirements.

This apprenticeship program will be a 4-year SVQ 3 course, attending Glasgow Clyde College (Anniesland Campus). This is a hybrid role combining academic and hands on industry training.

Key Responsibilities: 

·       Machine bespoke high precision components to engineering drawings

·       Understand dimensions and tolerances on engineering drawings

·       Experience using vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and gauges

·       Understand CNC machine operation and basic CNC programming 

·       Working within ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards

·       Safe use of machine tools and materials

Qualifications:

·       Minimum 4 x National 5’s – which must include; Maths, English, Technical and a Science 

Skills: 

·      Problem solving

·      Good communication skills

·      Willingness to learn and successfully complete apprenticeship qualifications

Salary:

·      Year 1 - £18K + Benefits

·      Year 2 - £22K

·      Year 3 - £26K

·      Year 4 - £30K+
