Do you have an interest in risk management? If you're customer oriented with strong ambassadorial skills, this could be an excellent development opportunity for you. We're seeking a highly organised individual to join our team, support and influence AXA commercial in the delivery of a profitable underwriting result to generate positive customer engagement. You'll use your expertise in risk identification, elimination or control by conducting on site and remote surveys. You'll provide appropriate, clear and accurate reports of findings in order to identify and reduce risk exposures to AXA and its customers. In addition, you'll provide technical guidance and support to internal underwriters and external customers as requested in respect of survey and non-survey casework. At AXA we work smart, this role is non-office based meaning you can predominantly work from home or if in a field-based role, you'll travel to visit offices or client sites as required. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition. What you'll be doing:
- Prioritise survey workload, ensuring that customer requirements and service standards are met.
- Undertake risk survey evaluations of commercial property, motor fleet and liability risks and provide an appropriate technical report.
- Confirm to underwriters on risk quality, rating, classification and loss assessment.
- Deliver appropriate data that is required to influence reinsurance pricing and terms.
- Recognise, negotiate and agree risk improvement measures with policyholders necessary for risk acceptability.
- Prepare a schedule of risk improvement measures for onward transmission by the underwriter, to the client or broker, including appropriate timescale for completion.
- Provide training for new BRM's and branch underwriters.

- Experience of property, motor fleet and liability risk surveying, with understanding of associated underwriting practice - essential.
- Evaluation experience of risk and specifying fire, security, escape of water, flood and business interruption risk protections - essential.
- Expertise in evaluation of risk and specifying risk protections for employers', public and products liability.
- Experience of dealing with mid to large customers, or more technical challenging risks.
- Thorough knowledge of risk identification, assessment and improvement techniques and standards.
- Knowledge of relevant general and specific trade hazards by occupancy type.
- Up to date on RISC authority rules and recommendations, national and international standards and codes of practice, health and safety principles.
- Presentation, negotiation and communication skills, including the ability to write clear reports of complex risks.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate, CMIOSH, CFPA or equivalent degree - desirable. As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
