Experteer Overview As Technical Business Development Manager, you drive revenue growth and deepen partnerships for Umicore's Infrared coatings and filters. Based at the Dundee facility, you'll shape account strategy, collaborate across functions, and translate market needs into product opportunities. You'll work with customers and internal teams to capture new revenue, expand market share, and guide go-to-market efforts in a rapidly evolving space optics domain. This is a growth-focused, cross-functional role with international travel. Pay / Benefits
- Own and grow the sales pipeline by identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities Build and maintain strong commercial and technical relationships with customers to foster long-term partnerships Lead technical and commercial engagements to understand needs and develop compelling value propositions Develop and execute account growth and go-to-market strategies to increase revenue and market share Conduct market, competitor, and industry analysis to identify trends and opportunities Provide market intelligence to support portfolio development and capability enhancements Translate requirements into opportunities for product improvements and new development with engineering and manufacturing teams Collaborate with Strategic Business Development, Marketing, and external partners on campaigns and engagement initiatives Represent the company at meetings, conferences, and events to promote capabilities and generate opportunities Occasional travel across Europe, North America, and other key markets Manage the full sales cycle including RFQ review, pricing, negotiation, and order execution Maintain accurate forecasts, pipelines, and account plans for decision-making Tasks University degree in science, engineering, commercial sciences or business administration Relevant experience in sales/business administration in a manufacturing B2B environment, optics industry preferred Excellent business communication and technical sales skills with good understanding of optical manufacturing processes and quality standards Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems Affinity with numbers and financial metrics; comfort with production flows and cost drivers Strong networking, negotiation, and cross-cultural relationship-building abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive, positive, and collaborative mindset Creative problem solving and ability to identify and develop new ideas and initiatives Key requirements competitive salary and benefits collaborative environment inclusive work culture opportunities for career development international travel opportunities dynamic, growing market
