Full Job Description

Scotland’s resource efficiency and circular economy expert, Zero Waste Scotland, is looking for a Design Officer to be an integral part of our busy in-house design studio. We’re looking for a designer that can bring creative ideas and solutions to join a team that’s helping to communicate the benefits of adopting more sustainable ways of living and doing business.

The Design Officer will play a key role in presenting and projecting Zero Waste Scotland’s brand and professional reputation through the delivery of design-led communications outputs, including publications, marketing collateral and digital platforms.  The role will work across the organisations corporate and campaign brands and ensure high quality in all our presented outputs.

  • You will work alongside a Design Consultant and existing Design Officer to deliver a range of informative communication content relating to Zero Waste Scotland’s varied work area.
  • This will include content such as infographics, reports, animations, videos and social media content that communicate our message, promote our services and support behaviour change campaigns.
  • You will respond to a varied range of design briefs and requests from across the organisation, ranging from designing technical reports for publication, turning new and complex concepts into easy-to-understand infographics, to translating this work into content for our social channels.
