Communications Officer (Graphic Design) - fixed term until 30/09/2027
Waverley Court
Salary: £40,501 - £47,639
Hours: 36 per week
We're looking for two graphic designers to join our award-winning communications team. You'll bring creative ideas to life across multiple formats and channels from traditional print to digital content.
You will work alongside our marketing/communications professional to promote Council services as well as contribute to behaviour change and other campaigns. You'll manage multiple creative projects so you must be organised and stay calm under pressure. You'll be supported by clear brand guidelines, giving you the framework to deliver consistent, effective work while still bringing your own creative judgement.
If you thrive in a busy environment, working collaboratively, have attention to detail and are experienced on working withing an organisation's creative brand while contributing to its development, this is a chance to work on projects that make a difference to people.
You must have a graphic design qualification (preferably degree level), solid Adobe CS skills and be able to demonstrate that you've delivered creative campaigns within a complex and diverse organisation.
One post will work closely with teams in our cultural venues, museums and galleries including Usher Hall, Assembly Rooms and City Art Centre. For this post, you should have experience of exhibition design.
We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce where everyone feels valued and able to be their best. We particularly encourage applications from women for senior roles, as well as people from minority ethnic backgrounds, people with disabilities or neurodivergent people, care experienced people, carers and LGBT+ people across all levels of the organisation, all of whom are currently underrepresented. All applicants will be considered fairly based on skills and experience. Disabled and care-experienced applicants who meet the minimum job criteria will be guaranteed an interview.

We're interested not only in your skills and experience but also in your approach to work. Therefore, part of our interview process will be an assessment of how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.
