Main Purpose of the Role
Working within Perth & Kinross Council is more than a job, it's about being part of something meaningful. It's about being part of an organisation that puts people at the heart of all we do and provides opportunities to make a real difference by enhancing every life we touch.
We currently have the following opportunity:
Community Link Worker - PKC13916
£34,424- £37,784

Community Link Workers aim to improve health and wellbeing by helping people to make informed choices, build confidence, learn new skills, meet new people and make new friends, and connect with their community.
This includes supporting individuals to take part in social activities, join community groups or clubs, and meet new people and have fun.
The role also involves connecting people to emotional support and practical help, such as accessing resources for housing, employment or financial support.
As well as improving a person’s quality of life, the role involves working with frontline statutory workers such as Social Workers, District Nurses, Occupational Therapists, CPNs and GPs, keeping them informed of available community-based support.

As we embark on an exciting and ambitious journey to transform how mental health services are delivered across Perth and Kinross, we are committed to creating flexible, responsive and person-centred pathways of support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Our vision is to ensure that support is accessible beyond traditional 9–5 working hours, extending into evenings and weekends. This reflects our commitment to meeting people at the point of need and delivering services that are accessible, inclusive and responsive seven days a week.
We are currently redesigning our model of care for individuals experiencing:
- Mental health difficulties
- Substance use challenges
- Suicidal ideation and distress
Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this post.

The successful candidates will:
- Work across a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Be part of a service aligned to seven-day working and extended hours provision
- Work collaboratively across agencies, including the third sector, health services and lived experience networks, to deliver coordinated and holistic support
- Respond flexibly to service demand in line with evolving operational needs, with good IT knowledge and skills
You must have a valid UK driving licence, as this post requires travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking individuals who:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed practice
- Value and actively promote co-production and lived experience involvement
- Are confident working within dynamic, multi-agency environments
- Can build effective relationships across statutory, third sector and community networks
- Have the resilience and professionalism required to support individuals in times of need
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a transformational programme of work within Perth and Kinross, helping to shape services that are responsive, inclusive and future-focused.
