Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting an existing client on the appointment of a compliance manager for a 14-month FTC based in East Kilbride offering hybrid working.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the Head of Compliance to manage applicable regulatory compliance risks (including, amongst other areas, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Data Protection and International Sanctions);
  • Monitor and assist the Head of Compliance with actions arising from new and emerging regulatory compliance legislation, Group projects etc;
  • Maintain and develop positive working relationships with global businesses and work with them to develop and integrate complementary compliance processes and services where required;
  • Develop, review and maintain regulatory compliance related policies, processes and internal controls;
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, maintenance of Compliance-related risk registers and implementation of risk management measures;
  • Assume the role of Data Protection SME, to include:
  • The development, review and maintenance of applicable Data Protection policies, processes and internal controls
  • Creation of Data Protection awareness campaigns
  • Design and delivery of Data Protection training
  • Ongoing monitoring and testing of Data Protection compliance

  • Support with the delivery of compliance training, including contributing to content creation, delivery and follow-ups (including testing) if/where required;
  • Participate in the Group sanctions risk programme with particular focus on supply chain, to include:
  • General awareness and understanding of new and emerging global international sanctions
  • Screening of new global suppliers as part of the supply chain approval process
  • Risk-based, periodic, monitoring and screening of global suppliers
  • Assistance with screening global customers and review and analysis of live sales opportunities
  • Recognition and understanding of sanctions risk red flags and identification of when to escalate to the Head of Compliance

  • Management of sales agent and authorised reseller network ("sales representatives”), to include:
  • Working closely with global businesses to provide compliance related sales representative appointment and renewal advice;
  • Conducting sales representative onboarding and renewal due diligence;
  • Oversight of anti-bribery and corruption training assignment to sales representative network, on-time training completion and periodic refresher modules;
  • Review and update of sales agent and authorised reseller agreements;

Knowledge & Experience:


  • Proven track record in regulatory compliance preferred;
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about leveraging regulatory compliance to drive positive business change and meet strategic goals;
  • Willingness to work remotely or office-based as required;
  • Knowledge and experience managing Data Protection in organisations with a global footprint;
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team and collaboratively;
  • Willingness to participate in completing both strategic and operational tasks;
  • Strong workload management skills, with the capability to coordinate multiple priorities;
  • Ability to meet deadlines on time and to a high standard;
  • Demonstrates integrity and reliability;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build good working relationships;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong analytical mindset with an eye for detail and proactive approach to problem-solving;
