Applications are invited for a part-time (6 sessions) post as Psychotherapy Lead for medical staff in NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

The post will primarily involve the coordination and delivery of psychotherapy training for core and higher trainees in psychiatry, ensuring that trainees meet their psychotherapy competencies. The post will include providing psychotherapy supervision and running the Case Based Discussion / Balint Group. The successful applicant will also be expected to deliver a limited clinical service, predominantly within psychiatric liaison services.

The post holder will have had extensive experience working in NHS psychotherapy services and hold a CCT in Medical Psychotherapy and hold a qualification in either Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Ayrshire is situated in the South West of Scotland.  It has excellent schools, extensive recreational facilities and is within easy commuting distance from Glasgow via the M77/A77 against commuter traffic.  There are excellent train and bus links, and national and international flights are available from Prestwick Airport near Ayr, and Glasgow Airport.
