Full Job Description
Experteer Overview In this role, you will join SSE's Procurement and Commercial team to support onshore connection and capital network reinforcement cable projects within the SHEPD area. You will manage end-to-end procurement and contracting processes to deliver multi-million projects across underground cables, overhead lines, and substations. You'll collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to optimize value, manage risks, and track cost performance. This is an impact-driven opportunity in a safety-focused, energy-transition context, offering hybrid or on-site work with flexible patterns. Pay / Benefits
- Provide end-to-end procurement and contract management services across projects Identify and manage commercial, business, and legal risks; negotiate terms to ensure value for money Develop and implement procurement/commercial strategy aligned with project objectives Provide budgeting, cost reporting, and support achievement of departmental KPIs (e.g., total cost of ownership, value engineering, safety) Build and maintain relationships with main suppliers/contractors and coordinate with project contacts Research and present information on contracts (preferably NEC ECC or similar) and support post-contract administration and commercial programming Tasks Good working knowledge of UK construction contracts; NEC ECC or similar experience essential Experience in negotiation and management of contracts Experience in bottom-up costing, budgeting, pre/post-contract administration, claims, and risk management Strong drafting skills for construction contracts Quantity Surveying degree preferred; other construction-related degrees with relevant experience considered Experience in delivery-focused roles within construction or energy-related projects Key requirements discounts on private healthcare and gym memberships online GP and 24/7 counselling interest-free loans for tech and transport season tickets Cycle to Work scheme maternity and adoption pay paternity leave
