Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes consistently. Flexibility, creativity, and strong leadership skills are essential for success in this role. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking food, maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.,

  • Prepare food items in accordance with company recipes and standards, ensuring timely service and adherence to quality standards.

  • Assist in planning and executing menus for catering events, contributing innovative ideas to enhance our seasonal offerings.

  • Collaborate with the Chef and kitchen team to fulfil various tasks and support daily operations.

  • Contribute ideas for seasonal menu changes and offer creative input to enhance the dining experience.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area, including workstations, storage areas, and equipment.

  • Receive food deliveries, inspecting items for quality and ensuring proper storage and rotation.

  • Conduct temperature checks regularly and record findings to ensure food safety standards are met.

  • Complete relevant health and safety documentation and adhere to company policies and procedures.

  • Actively participate in the Calendar Events committee, providing innovative menu ideas and assisting with event execution.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in stock control, ordering, and minimising waste to maximize profitability.

  • Provide leadership and support to kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.

    Previous experience in catering or culinary roles.

  • Level 2 Food Safety Certification, COSSH, and Level 2 Health & Safety (training provided if needed).

  • Sound knowledge of food allergens and compliance management.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience leading a team.

  • Familiarity with stock control systems and inventory management.

  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
