Do you enjoy advising on acquisition finance, corporate lending and asset-backed financing transactions, working directly with clients and taking ownership of commercially important deals? Are you looking for a role where you can combine high-quality work, genuine responsibility and long-term career development within a collaborative and ambitious team? If so, we'd love to hear from you. The Team Our Banking & Finance team is a leading finance practice with well over thirty lawyers, and advises on a wide range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions. Working with banks, alternative lenders, funds, corporates and sponsors, we support clients on complex transactions across a range of sectors including technology, financial services, healthcare, real estate, energy, infrastructure and the wider corporate market. Led by Rachael Ruane, the Corporate Banking team is ranked Band 1 by Chambers & Partners in the South West and is recognised for its expertise in corporate banking and acquisition finance work. The practice combines deep sector expertise with commercially focused advice and works closely with colleagues across Corporate, Tax, Private Wealth, Real Estate, Projects and Restructuring. What Others Say "The Burges Salmon team was excellent and, despite the very complex situation of the case, handled everything perfectly and smoothly and acted as a true partner." (Chambers) "They have an exceptional understanding of the complexities, offering not just legal advice but guidance that is both pragmatic and solution-focused." (Chambers) "They provide a holistic service across multiple workstreams and disciplines, and they are user-friendly and client-serving." • You'll work directly with partners and clients, helping to manage transactions, lead workstreams and build trusted relationships with lenders, borrowers and sponsors. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to business development initiatives, develop sector expertise and support the continued growth of the team.

We're looking for an ambitious, commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working collaboratively and delivering excellent client service. You'll ideally have:
  • 4+ years' PQE gained within a recognised Banking & Finance practice
  • Strong experience advising lenders and/or borrowers on corporate banking transactions
  • Experience of acquisition finance, leveraged finance, asset-backed lending or other complex financing transactions
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and transaction management skills
  • Experience managing workstreams and taking increasing responsibility on transactions
  • Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement
  • A proactive and collaborative approach
  • Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales (or an equivalent common law jurisdiction)
  • Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys building relationships, taking ownership of your work and contributing to a supportive and ambitious team culture.

At Burges Salmon, you'll find high-quality work, exceptional colleagues and the freedom to build a rewarding career. You'll benefit from:
  • Exposure to complex and market-leading transactions
