Full Job Description

You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from home for part of your week and spend some time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

Would you like to play a crucial role in shaping and helping to implement an innovative and collaborative approach to place-based aspirations and service provision based on the needs and requirements of communities and partners in Angus and North-East Scotland.

Would you also like to be involved in the preparation on the next Local Development Plan for Angus to assist with the development of new approaches in a range of areas, such as placemaking, urban design, 20-minute neighbourhoods, connected communities, climate change and health and well-being.

Would you also like to help deliver a range of projects in conjunction with communities, partners and external funders that help to make a real difference to where our communities live?

If the answer is yes to the above, then we can offer a unique role for a creative, dynamic, enthusiastic individual to take forward the aspirations for this role and to make it their own. You will be joining passionate, innovative, and dynamic Development Planning, Environment, Climate Change and Creative Placemaking and Urban Design Teams to help deliver for our communities. This role also involves working in collaboration with internal and external services, stakeholders, Elected Members, and communities.

You will use your knowledge and skills assist with the delivery of the innovative placemaking approach within Angus and take forward any projects and other related work in partnership. You will also assist with the preparation and production of Place Frameworks within Angus which is part of our approach to place-based work and service provision.

It is now fundamental with all the impacts of climate change, sustainability, health and well-being, inequality, sustainable growth and community empowerment, and our journey towards net zero by 2045, that place based approaches are more important than ever and that involving communities in that approach and to deliver in partnership improvements to their place or neighbourhood is critical in achieving this.

This job is temporary until no later than 31 March 2027. This may be extended subject to funding being available.

The opportunity to work remotely will be considered for this role as will applications from those wishing to apply on a part time basis.

Internal and external applications on a secondment basis will be considered. You must have the approval of your line manager / organisation.
