Full Job Description

We're recruiting for an experienced Datacentre Systems Analyst to join our Digital Infrastructure team to support and enhance our existing hybrid datacentre offering., Our mission at Arnold Clark Digital is to build, deploy and run industry-leading digital systems that help support the company's goal of being 'easy to do business with'.

You will be part of Arnold Clark's Digital Infrastructure team, responsible for the design, build and management of an extensive hybrid datacentre infrastructure. This will feature an array of computer and storage platforms deployed across multiple on-premise datacentres, as well as PAAS and IAAS services across multiple cloud providers.

You will assist the Datacentre Systems Engineers in day-to-day operations, including the build, maintenance, patching and upgrading of the Windows Server estate, server and storage hardware platforms and VMware ESXi virtualisation services.

You will also be involved in project-related activities around infrastructure design, solutions and driving efficiencies for the business.

Day-to-day duties

  • Managing server and storage platforms in the datacentre.

  • Installation, configuration and upgrading of Windows Server operating systems.

  • Using VMware to manage server deployments.

  • Deploying and automating patch management across the server estate.

  • Managing and updating Active Directory, DNS/DHCP services.

  • Monitoring system performance and taking corrective actions.

  • Managing the backup and recovery of servers and data.

  • Third line support duties including incident management.

    Experience of working at a technical level in operational duties

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems

  • A good understanding of DNS and DHCP services

  • Experience managing accounts within Active Directory

  • Experience of monitoring toolsets and acting based on alerts

  • Troubleshooting various technical issues and problems
