Full Job Description
The Data & Recon Team Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of intelligence gathering, data analysis, and strategic decision-making. They must possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in technical tools, and excellent communication abilities. This role requires effective leadership, adaptability to changing environments, and a commitment to ethical conduct and data privacy. The ideal candidate will have deep domain knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.,
- Team span, responsible for handling a team of 5 to 10.
- Develops and maintains positive and collaborative relationships with other departments within the organisation to enhance the integration of division products and services.
- Establishes and achieves goals for the team, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Manages the team's budget and resources efficiently to maximise productivity and effectiveness.
- Ensures the team consistently meets deadlines and delivers on its commitments.
- Designs and implements the team's training and development plan to enhance skillsets and knowledge.
- Provides regular feedback and coaching to team members to support their growth and performance improvement.
- Demonstrates awareness of security risks associated with the team's work and proactively takes steps to mitigate those risks.
- Engages in strategic thinking about the team's work, identifying trends, generating innovative ideas, and making recommendations that benefit the company.
- Leads and mentors other team members, offering guidance, support, and opportunities for skill and knowledge development.
- Builds and sustains a high-performing team by fostering collaboration, open communication, and trust among team members.
- Motivates and inspires team members to achieve their goals by setting clear expectations, offering regular feedback, and recognising their accomplishments.
- Takes charge of resolving problems within the team, including identifying root causes, formulating and implementing solutions, and monitoring their effectiveness.
- Makes decisions that impact the team, considering various options, assessing the implications for team members, and prioritising the team's best interests in the decision-making process.
Proven project management skills and ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. - Proven ability to analyse information and anticipate outcomes to choose the best solutions.
- Deep understanding of the team's work and the technologies used to do it. This includes knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and data quality assurance.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles - including waterfall, agile, etc.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Analysing information and anticipating outcomes to choose the best solutions
- ability to motivate and inspire team members, as well as provide them with the guidance and support they need to be successful., Bachelor's and/or master's degree in finance or accounting.
- 4+ years of relevant experience leading an operational team in a relevant industry- finance, accounting, or tech.
- Proven leadership experience within a cross-functional capacity.
- Prior experience/familiarity in SQL preferred. An understanding of database concepts and information models is critical.
