An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Development Officer to join our Trafficking Awareness Raising Alliance (TARA) on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2028.
NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.

What the job involves:
TARA provide a support service for trafficking survivors, to help identify and support women who may have been trafficked for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation. It is our belief that trafficking is fuelled by the demand from the commercial sex industry and that commercial sexual exploitation is a form of violence against women that is harmful to women, families, and communities. The service works in partnership with other to provide comprehensive, individual assessments of need, including risk.

What we’re looking for:
You will need to have experience of supporting vulnerable women, of case management, and of partnership working, along with excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills as the Development Officer will undertake the provision of identification, assessment, crisis and long-term support to women trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation recovered from across Scotland.
An SCQF Level 7 qualification in Health and Social Care (Adults) or extensive professional experience is an essential requirement for this role. Additionally, due to a genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010 this post is restricted to women only.

What we’re offering: A core salary starting at £39,276.09 rising to £47,205.97 on an incremental scale, based on a 35-hour per week Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, work pattern.

An Annual leave entitlement which starts at 26 days per year, rising to 29 days after 5 years’ continuous service, plus an additional 12.5 Public Holidays per year.
