We are looking for web and software developers to join the ‘Innovation and Digital’ team at Falkirk Council.

This is a hybrid working post! You can work from home or visit our local office (The Foundry) in Larbert.

Who are we?

We look after Falkirk Council’s digital platforms, websites, and online services (including My Falkirk). We use technology and design to improve the quality and efficiency of Council services by:

  • Challenging existing business practices
  • Ensuring best practice and continuous improvement
  • Using Service Design to co-design services with users
  • Developing innovative digital solutions to meet business and customer needs

About you

You will have experience building and maintaining websites and web-based applications, contributing to technical projects, and undertaking web/software development work.

You will be a motivated software/web developer, with a degree in computer science or relevant experience.

You will work across the Council to understand its business needs and solve technical challenges using a broad set of tools, such as:

  • .NET
  • Granicus GovService
  • UiPath (Robotic Process Automation)
  • Power Platform

You will know how to code (ideally using C# and .NET) and be familiar with using web services and APIs. You should be familiar with Visual Studio, Git and Office 365. 

You will have excellent analytical and development skills and will use these to prioritise competing demands and deadlines. You will have a good attention to detail.

You will be a team player who can work and collaborate with colleagues at all levels.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to carry out a Disclosure Scotland check.

This post is temporary until May 2025 to cover secondment.
