Full Job Description

An opening for a self-motivated, caring and adaptable healthcare support worker is now available within our Discharge Lounge.

The Discharge Lounge has been re-established within Raigmore and welcomes patients from all areas of the hospital who have reached the end of their inpatient care. Our ideal candidate will have first-rate communication skills, and be passionate about patient care.

You must be responsive to the demands of an ever changing environment, have exemplary organisational skills and be committed to achieving the safe and timely discharge of our patients.  As part of the team, the post holder will be required to adapt and respond to where the demand for support is greatest, meaning they may be required to work flexibly across the service.

The collection point opens between 08:30 and 18:30, aiming to cover 5-7 days a week.  Part time hours would be considered.

This is a rarely available opportunity to join our team working in a modern acute hospital based in the capital of the Highlands of Scotland, which affords a high standard of living with easy access to stunning surroundings on your doorstep, and good travel links from Inverness to other parts of the UK.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
