Early Years Assistant - Fixed term until 29/06/2027

Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro rata for part time and sessional)


Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessional


Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 3.30pm and Friday 8.30am to 12.30pm


We are looking for a conscientious, committed Early Years Assistant with excellent inter-personal and communication skills. You will be working as part of our Early Learning and Childcare team. Previous experience of working in a nursery would be desirable.

EYAs do not work during the 12 weeks of school holidays; however, the total salary is paid in 12 equal monthly payments, over the year. Please read the sessional working information attached to this advert. This explains how salaries are calculated for sessional (term time) and part time posts.


There are also opportunities to work in a holiday hub provision during the school holidays for successful candidates looking to work during the school holidays.


This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
