Tynecastle Nursery School
Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro rata for part time)
Hours: 16 per week, 52 Weeks
Tynecastle Nursery is housed within Tynecastle Stadium in a beautiful, purpose built nursery space. Opened originally in 1930, the new nursery continues to be highly regarded within the community. The nursery benefits from a rich social and cultural mix of families and its diversity is one of its main strengths. A highly skilled, dynamic and motivated staff team support the children and families. The nursery is registered for 55 children aged 2-5 years.

We are now are looking to recruit an enthusiastic team-player who will work collaboratively as a member of the early years team. Assisting in meeting the educational, care and welfare needs of all children ensuring those with additional support needs who can attend a mainstream provision, can effectively access the curriculum. You provide support and assistance in the day-to-day operations of the Early Years Centre as directed by the Head Teacher/Head of Centre or nominated staff. You will be flexible and assist in carrying out general clerical duties as and when required in support of children's learning.
The successful candidate will work Monday - 8am to 4.30pm and Tuesday 9.30am to 6pm (this includes a 30-minute unpaid break each day) -
Although no formal qualification is required, candidates should have a good basic education and be literate and numerate.
Early Years Assistants must apply for registration with SSSC within three months of being offered a post and must also gain a SVQ2/SCQF Level 6 qualification within 3 years of taking up the role.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
