Full Job Description
Job purpose: To work in a family run, forward thinking group of 6 private nurseries in the West end of Edinburgh easily commutable by bus or train. The post offers a competitive salary and attractive health care and pension schemes.
You will be expected to work 36 hours per week over 4 days. You will work within a team to provide quality care in a stimulating environment for babies and children up to age 5. You will not be indoors all day but be able to enjoy taking the children to Forrest Schools, Coastal classrooms and local sites and attractions.
What will I learn? You will work toward the practitioner qualification -Social Services (Children and Young People) SVQ3 at SCQF level 7 which will take approximately 18 months. You will be supported in the workplace to learn all aspects of the role and addition will attend off the job training workshops.
You should have a can-do attitude and be able to demonstrate a passion for working with children and be caring and enthusiastic. You must be able to work as part of a team and have good communication skills. You must be reliable and join the PVG scheme prior to commencing employment. English at National 5 or equivalent is preferred.
