Early Years Practitioner Modern Apprentice

Job purpose: Earn as you Learn with an Apprenticeship in Childcare and Early Years Education

This opportunity is funded through the Modern Apprenticeship scheme and is open to all genders aged between 16 and 24 years old (candidates up to the age of 29 may be eligible for funding if they have a disability or are a care leaver). Successful candidates will work full time in a nursery whilst training to achieve an SVQ Level 3 in 'Social Services, Children and Young People'. Once completed, this will allow you to work as a fully qualified Early Years Practitioner (Nursery Nurse). During your apprenticeship, you will work as part of the nursery team, learning to provide the highest level of early-years education and care to all children attending the nursery and excellent customer service to parents and carers.

You will receive practical training from qualified colleagues within the nursery and unlimited academic support from a dedicated, Award-Winning, Childcare Management Assessor in working towards the achievement of your accredited qualification.

Duration: On average, 15-18 months, however some individuals may qualify in less time, some may require more, as the course is tailored to the individual’s learning style and needs.

What will I learn? Some of the skills and duties you will learn include:

· Observing & recording children’s development

· Following policies and procedures

· Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children at all times

· Creating fun-filled learning experiences through play

· Preparing snacks/lunches for children

· Undertaking personal care of children (toileting/nappy changing)

· Setting up resources and playrooms

· Outdoor play with the children

What qualifications or qualities are required? Education/Qualifications/Training

Preferred: Nat. 5 pass in English.

Required: A minimum of 3 x National 4 passes, one of which should be English

Experience:

No experience is necessary; however, a genuine desire to work with children is!
