Who are we?

Kibble is a specialist provider of services for at risk children and young people across the UK.  Many of the young people the charity cares for have experienced significant trauma in their lives and we provide a safe, stable environment that is both nurturing and therapeutic. With a robust support network and wide range of integrated services, we offer young people opportunities and encourage them to believe in themselves, feel a sense of belonging, and realise their own self-worth.

What is the Job Function?

The project co-ordinator will develop a range of individual, groupwork and workshop activities for young people who may be at increased risk of harm from online activity and personal relationships.  Your role will be to empower children and young people encouraging them to share their views on experiences of a safeguarding nature.   The function of the post is to ensure that safeguarding and coercive control awareness is developed and that young people and other stakeholders have access to resources that promote their emotional, physical and mental wellbeing.  Working alongside young people placed at Kibble, staff, the Child Protection Co-ordinator and external agencies you will be responsible for the planning, organsiation and orchestration of a range of activities designed to engage young people co-productively.  The Project Co-ordinator will source, design, develop and co-produce materials that are currently not freely available nationally.  Your aim will be to help young people better understand the risks and how to stay safe both online and in personal relationships.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Who are we looking for?

The Project Co-ordinator will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Able to engage with a range of stakeholders, you will have a proven track record of designing, producing and developing a range of resources.  You will be creative, dynamic, engaging, reliable, insightful, persistent, resilient with a good understanding of children, young people and adults and the safeguarding risks that affect their lives.                       

What qualification and experience are we looking for?

  • Educated to HND/degree level is desirable
  • An equivalent relevant vocational qualification related to the post.  Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of qualifications.
  • Previous experience of working within children or adult services.
  • Ability to relate to young people and have a proven track record in building and sustaining relationships.
  • Experience of developing resources with a focus on child protection, safeguarding or health and wellbeing.
  • Effective IT and written skills that enable you to source, design and develop a ragne of user friendly resources.
  • Able to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
  • Experience of working with a variety of partner agencies and managing schedules, inputs and impact and an understanding of the third sector is desirable.

The successful candidate will be subject to PVG Scheme Membership.  Having previous convictions will not automatically disbar you from working at Kibble (with the exception of offences against children or other vulnerable groups) and every case is taken on an individual basis.

Prior to commencing in post, you will be required to undertake Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training. The successful candidate must be able to participate fully in this training and be prepared to put this training into practice.

Appointments will be subject to a twelve month probationary period.
