Engineering Business Environment Lockheed Martin UK - Strategic Systems (LMUK SS) is the single contractor providing specialist Waterfront In-Service Support to one of the Royal Navy's Submarine Programs. The company provides the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with safe, efficient and responsive support. LMUK SS, as part of the ABL Alliance with AWE and Babcock, is also responsible for the management of operations at RNAD Coulport. Looking to the future, LMUK SS supports the joint US and UK submarine design efforts., We're looking for an Electrical / Electronic Field Engineer to join our team at an entry level based from Faslane, Helensburgh. This role benefits from our 9/75 working pattern offering a 9 day working fortnight, giving you every other Friday off. You'll be working on the maintenance of the SWS (Strategic Weapon System) Navigation Sub-system for the current in service and next generation Nuclear Submarines. The successful candidate will:
- Conduct corrective, preventative maintenance for the SWS Navigation Sub-system.
- Go to sea for short periods of time.
- Be required to travel to the US (typically once a year) and within the UK to attend meetings, training and maintenance support.
Minimum of a HNC with some experience in a hands-on Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical role or a Graduate in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or related subject looking for a hands-on Electrical / Electronic Engineering role. - Be able to follow procedural documentation.
- Promote a positive health-and-safety culture.
- Pro-active approach to providing solutions to emergent challenges.
- Proficient experience of Microsoft Office Software suite.
- Good communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Team player Desirable skills
- Knowledge of SWS
- Knowledge of Inertial Navigation Concepts., This role would suit an Engineer with a minimum of a HNC and some experience in a hands-on Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical role. We'd also be open to applications from a Graduate in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or related subject looking for a hands-on Electrical / Electronic Engineering role.
