Full Job Description

Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Operational Estates is looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join the Estate's shift teams to carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance across the hospital campus., The successful applicant will be required to undertake and successfully complete the training required for appointment as a Competent Person (Low Voltage). While the primary role of the post holder(s) will be to carry out electrical tasks, they will be part of a small multi-skilled technical team and will be responsible for the delivery of specialist technical services for a wide range of duties in relation to all disciplines of building services, including, but not limited to, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. It is essential that the post holder accepts a wide range of cross trade duties so as to deliver a high standard of service. All cross discipline training will be provided as required.

The successful applicant will also have responsibilities to assist with training and education of apprentices and adult trainees, ensuring they gain the necessary training and experience to meet the needs of their training program.

This shift post is eligible for pay enhancements.

The applicants MUST be a time served electrician, having completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship, hold and IET 18th Ed Wiring Regs qualification, qualified to SVQ/HNC level (or currently working towards this qualification). With a minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience, ideally including a degree of experience working within a healthcare environment. A current valid ECS/SJIB bard is desirable but not essential.
