A highly skilled Electrical Supervisor with strong experience overseeing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of EV (Electric Vehicle) charging infrastructure across long-term commercial and public-sector projects. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with UK electrical standards, and deliver safe, reliable, and efficient EV charging solutions.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Extensive hands-on and supervisory experience in EV charging facilities, including AC and DC rapid-charging systems.
- Strong knowledge of IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), OLEV/OZEV requirements, and industry best practices for EV infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end installation works: site inspections, cable routing, civil coordination, electrical installations, testing and commissioning.
- Experienced in supervising electricians, contractors, and subcontractors on multi-site and long-duration EV deployment projects.
- Competent in producing and reviewing RAMS, ensuring all works meet health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Capable of interpreting technical drawings, electrical schematics, and manufacturers' specifications.
- Skilled in diagnosing faults, supporting maintenance teams, and ensuring minimal downtime for charging stations.
- Familiar with load management systems, smart charging technologies, and integration with local distribution networks.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, coordinating with clients, project managers, and DNOs.
Certifications & Compliance:
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- ECS/CSCS Card
- EV Charging Installation training (e.g., City & Guilds 2919) - if applicable
- SSSTS/SMSTS - if applicable
Personal Attributes:
- Safety-driven, proactive, and highly organised
- Excellent team leadership and problem-solving skills
- Able to manage deadlines on long-term, complex infrastructure projects
