Scottish Power Transmissions are looking for an Electrician to join their team on a contract basis, attending substation sites across central Scotland. Applicants ideally will already hold Scottish Power site authorisations.


Position Details



  • Title: Electrician

  • Contract Duration: 12 months with scope to go permanent

  • Rate: Negotiable based on experience

  • Work Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday


The Position


To construct, maintain and repair LV electrical installations in compliance with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. The work of an Electrician typically consists of maintenance, repair testing and installation of LV substation building supplies such as replacing faulty heaters, lights, PAT testing, Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) of building supplies, substation re-wiring, emergency lighting maintenance and lighting/compound lighting upgrades, etc.


Key Responsibilities



  • To effectively deliver all works to agreed productivity levels.

  • Carry out effective fault management to ensure delivery of unit cost requirements.

  • Undertake and develop appropriate skills associated with work in substations.

  • Contributes as effective member of Energy Networks

  • Supervision of Contractors

  • Data capture including time sheets and as-built records

  • Ensure all site works are carried out safely, including acting as the nominated person in charge of safety for the duration of all works attended whilst ensuring all network operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with company policy and safety rules.

  • Strives to eliminate customer complaints as an on-site representative of the company.

  • Perform stand-by duties as agreed with the company.

  • Job planning including obtaining materials, vehicles, and equipment.


Requirements



  • Applicants must currently hold Scottish Power site authorisations, with experience working as an electrician, or on electrical works on substations.

  • The post holder must also hold a full UK driving license.
