An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Enablement Worker to join Inverness Enablement Team. These posts will enable the right candidates the opportunity to be part of an integrated adult social care service with NHS Highland. You will work with individuals in their own home, to maximise patient independence, preventing admission to hospital and supporting the rehabilitation programmes set up by the rehab assistant practitioners.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an established Integrated team in a community-based setting focusing on facilitated discharge and prevention of admission.

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations and patient residences, so a full current driving license and use of a vehicle is essential.

Working pattern will be on 4 days on and 4 days off basis.

To be able to carry out the duties of this post effectively and safely, candidates must have at least one years experience in a care setting. Applicant must have effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. SVQ Level 3 in Care, or a willingness and ability to work towards this qualification within an agreed time scale.

Requirement to be registered with the Scottish Social Service Council within 6 months of appointment.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
