An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for 2 Environmental Health Officers to join our Environmental Health Team on a permanent basis.
NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services.

Position Details
The posts will contribute towards the delivery of Environmental Health duties, the provision of the statutory food safety and health and safety functions and noise investigation. The person filling the post would be a member of a team delivering statutory regulation. Consequently, only suitably qualified persons can be considered. The posts will also support the Planning process by providing specialist information for use in noise consultations and acoustic assessments. This contribution will ensure that Planning Officers are furnished with accurate, evidence‑based details relevant to noise impact considerations and that all acoustic assessments are informed by appropriate technical input.
A Degree and Diploma in Environmental Health, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a working knowledge of the role of an Environmental Health Officer within a local authority setting, a flexible approach to working, good IT skills and communication skills are essential. A current driving licence is desirable.

Contract Details
Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday
Annual Salary: £45,495.33 - £52,944.70 on an incremental scale. This position attracts a Variable Hours / Additional Hours Payment at £1,405 per annum, in recognition of the requirement for flexibility to respond to complaints and attend events.
