Full Job Description

As one of only four teaching Boards in Scotland, NHS Tayside has a strong track record of continually seeking ways to transform and improve the way we deliver health and care to the people of Tayside.  We achieve this through our dedicated team of health and care professionals, who are passionate about the work they do and are committed to the people they serve.

Here in Tayside, we are focusing on clinician-led, whole-system redesign, working towards delivery of modern, world class services, directly addressing the needs of our communities.  Our approach is rooted in providing high quality, safe, affordable and sustainable health and care, while exploring ways to improve outcomes, using realistic medicine principles, and by working closely with partners in a whole system approach to tackle the underlying determinants of health.

As Executive Nurse Director, you will be a key contributor to the transformation of NHS Taysides whole system health and care strategy, providing executive leadership of Nursing and Midwiferys performance and activity.  You will focus on sustaining and enhancing our culture of continuous quality improvement, where patients and service users are at the forefront of what we do.

To thrive in this role, you will share our vision, aims and values and will be a committed member of our Board and Executive Leadership Team.  You will demonstrate inspirational and passionate leadership, contributing to a culture where people are treated fairly and consistently, and are empowered to do their best work in service to the people of Tayside.

We are seeking an ambitious, driven and resilient individual with significant experience gained within a complex health environment.  A strategic leader, you will demonstrate a proven track record of leading cultural change; ensuring quality and safety in patient care; sound financial management; and ensuring effective governance.  You will be an effective communicator and motivator, committed to collaboration and partnership working, and the provision of high quality health and care across Tayside.

Our Chief Executive Nicky Connor would welcome a confidential informal discussion with interested candidates to arrange a suitable date and time, please contact our Senior Appointments Team at tay.seniorappointments@nhs.scot
