Full Job Description

This role will support the Executive Chef & Kitchen team in overseeing the delivery of high quality food/ catering and services across all events at Celtic Park, on both a match day and non-match day. The role is key to the functionality of the kitchen operation and requires an ability to write varied menus, operate a high volume of hospitality guests in a high pressure environment and be the point of contact in the absence of the Executive Chef.

 

Key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Deliver the highest level of customer service at all times
  • Lead on match days and specific events being the main point of contact for front of house and back of house staff
  • Assist the Exec Chef in the logistical and operational management of hospitality services on a
  • match day and planning for in excess of 3000 guests
  • Assist the Exec Chef with the preparation and delivery of all match day and event operations from Christmas party nights to self-made, large scale events
  • Provide, clear, effective and inclusive briefings to colleague on service requirements, with particular attention to food presentation, allergen information/ requirements, cooking technique and service standards
  • Ensure a consistent standard of food preparation and service is followed at all times, alongside continued adherence to food safety and health and safety procedures
  • Assist the Executive Chef and the BOH team in ensuring all hospitality areas remain to a high standard of cleanliness throughout, following proper disinfecting & sanitisation process at all times as per company guidelines
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant food safety rules and follow all company food safety guidelines, recording all temperature as per food safety monitoring brief
  • Effective clean and breakdown of kitchen post- service /match day/ event with team
  • Carry out all duties effectively to maintain timescales and safe working practices
  • Alongside the Executive Chef, ensure team members feel valued and recognised by acknowledging and celebrating team and individual success
  • Alongside HR, provide relevant wellbeing support to colleagues and maintain open channels of communication ensuring sufficient opportunity is available for team members to ask for support
  • Alongside the Executive Chef, ensure roles within the catering team are designed fairly and that work is allocated appropriately between colleagues
  • Ensure the health and wellbeing of colleagues is considered in all team tasks, processes and communications
  • Actively build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across the Club, ensuring a collaborative approach is adopted at all times
  • Complete all required food safety paperwork as required or instructed by Executive Chef
  • In the absence of the Executive Chef, attend operation meetings and ensure all information is being relayed to the wider team
  • In the absence of the Executive Chef, ensure all staff welfare matters are being managed appropriately and communicated back to HR

Skills and Experience required:


  • Food Safety Level 2
  • At least 3 years' experience working within a similar role (preferably within stadia)
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team using a hands on approach while always leading by example
  • Effective menu creation and planning
  • Prepare, cook and deliver to a high standard, in line with customer expectations and experience
  • A good understanding of food allergens and labelling
  • A good understanding of all kitchen procedures, food safety paperwork and recording wastage
  • Experienced in identifying and implementing creative solutions
  • Strong communicator, both verbal and written
  • Proven people management skills
  • Strong coaching skills, with a proven record of developing staff
  • Extensive experience working in a busy, pressurised environment
  • A flexible approach to working, with an ability to facilitate change
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and effective communicator to motivate a high performing team
  • Task orientated and proactive with ability to plan effectively
  • Ability to manage and work as part of a team, using initiative
  • Able to problem solve and prioritise own and other staff members' workload
  • Empathetic and approachable, with excellent listening and judgement skills
  • To have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to work with discretion and maintain high levels of confidentiality at all times
