WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is looking for a Fabrication Production Controller - STRUMIS Specialist to join our Off-Site Engineering team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will support fabrication production control, material tracking, workshop reporting and programme visibility through effective use of STRUMIS. This is a key role for someone with strong fabrication, manufacturing or structural steel experience who understands how production data, material traceability and workshop coordination support safe, efficient and profitable delivery. WGM is growing through secured long-term frameworks across the UK water sector, including Scottish Water SR27 and major multi-year programmes with United Utilities and Southern Water. For our people, that means long-term career security, bigger project exposure, technical development and room to progress. At WGM, you will be close to the work, close to decisions and close to the impact, with the visibility of a smaller business and the stability of a growing UK engineering company. The Role As Fabrication Production Controller - STRUMIS Specialist, you will manage and coordinate production control activities across WGM's fabrication and off-site engineering environment. Using STRUMIS, you will help track materials, monitor production progress, maintain accurate workshop data and support clear reporting across detailing, procurement, fabrication, project and site teams. The role will be central to improving production visibility, supporting workload planning, maintaining material traceability and helping ensure fabrication projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements. What you'll do:
- Manage fabrication production control processes through STRUMIS, ensuring production data, material status and workshop information are accurate and up to date.
- Monitor fabrication progress against programme requirements, identifying delays, bottlenecks or material shortages and escalating where required.
- Coordinate production priorities with fabrication, detailing, procurement, project and site teams to support efficient delivery.
- Control and monitor material allocation, stock movements, barcode tracking and traceability processes.
- Produce production reports, KPIs and progress updates for management teams.
- Support workshop planning, workload scheduling and continuous improvement of fabrication control processes.
- Assist with quality, compliance and traceability requirements across fabrication activity.
- Support better use of STRUMIS to reduce manual reporting, improve visibility and strengthen operational and commercial control., You will be joining a business delivering essential infrastructure across the UK water sector, with long-term secured work, investment in off-site engineering and the opportunity to help shape how production control and fabrication visibility develop across the business. This role offers the chance to make a practical impact by improving material control, production reporting, workshop coordination and STRUMIS utilisation. Your work will directly support better planning, reduced waste, improved programme delivery and stronger project performance.
- Strong experience within structural steel fabrication, manufacturing, workshop production or a similar fabrication environment.
- Advanced working knowledge of STRUMIS software.
- Experience in production control, fabrication planning, workshop coordination or material tracking.
- A good understanding of fabrication workflows, production sequencing, steelwork drawings and material traceability.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and under pressure.
- Good communication and coordination skills, with confidence working across workshop, detailing, procurement, project and site teams.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
