About SPT
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, manages large transport infrastructure projects and is responsible for delivery of a long-term multi-modal transport strategy for the West of Scotland.
About the Role
We are seeking to recruit a Facilities Technician (Electrician) who will carry out preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and minor works across electrical and associated building systems. The role has a primary focus on electrical systems whilst supporting general facilities and maintenance activities where required, ensuring all assets are safe, compliant and fully operational across the SPT estate. This includes undertaking basic plumbing tasks, fabric maintenance and grounds maintenance (such as grass cutting and general site presentation), as well as assisting with other maintenance activities.
You will also work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders, and to effectively prioritise workloads across both planned and reactive tasks ensuring compliance and safe maintenance procedures are always adhered to whilst continually looking to improve processes and adopt good working practices.
About You
You will be a highly motivated individual with the ability to plan work, operate in a changing environment and have a flexible and multi skilled approach to work.
You will be a time served craft person and be 18 Edition Regulation certified, with experience of electrical processes and procedures. You will be computer literate, and be able to work without immediate supervision as well as the ability to react to changing priorities in an operational environment.
Having sound communication skills are important when working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proactive and planned maintenance of the SPT estate.

The nature of this role may require you to work outwith normal office hours on occasion to support the operational requirements.
You will be based at Buchanan Bus Station, Killermont Street, Glasgow.
Please note, this position falls into the high risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and therefore is subject to random and for-cause testing procedures.
